ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
Party: Independent
Hometown: Hamilton
Age: 68 years young
Family: Single. Two grown sons, two granddaughters.
Experience: My life experiences and education range from growing up as a ranch hand on a large family cattle ranch to being an underwater welder, owning and operating several different construction businesses (Northwest Fencing and Northwest Concrete Pumping), and working for the City of Hamilton in the Water, Sewer, and Street Departments. I was also the construction manager for the current City Hall. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana in 1994. In 1989, I was a part of the group that got youth baseball re-established in Hamilton. I am an easy person to get to know. I have always been a hard working, happy, positive, and dedicated person. I am a friend to many.
Commissioners have plenty to do by taking care of roads, bridges, budgets, parks and recreation areas, law enforcement needs, water/aquifer management, waste management, promoting economical and industrial development, and providing for the protection of the general health and welfare of all Ravalli County residents. My extensive work, education, and business experiences in many of these areas have prepared me with the depth of knowledge and hands-on skills to know how to execute these diverse responsibilities on day one.
I am supported by members of all four parties and many local businesses.

Government exists to serve the people and should be immediately responsive to their needs and requests, not the other way around. Therefore, first and foremost, I bring a full and complete understanding that I am working for the great people of Ravalli County and plan to bring something new to the office in the way of being completely accessible to everyone, even after hours. I am hoping to get 3 - 5 volunteers from the areas of Hamilton, Charlo Heights/Lost Horse, Darby, East Fork, West Fork, and Sula. These volunteers will be my eyes and ears for any and all wants and needs for their areas.

Priorities for office:

I will personally donate $300 per month of my salary as commissioner to a deserving program, group, family, or individual.

Open the lines of communication with our "workers ants" (18-36 year olds) that are the life blood and backbone of every business in the valley. If you don't take care of the "worker ants," the colony dies.

Creating more affordable housing and daycare is a must !

Bring back horse racing and concerts to the County Fairgrounds year round.

Keep our public lands PUBLIC and open.
